Interview With Mitch Mitchell
Mitch Mitchell is an old blogger from USA, he is also an ffiliate marketer, and website creator, with some SEO tossed in. If you like this interview, please visit to I’m Just Sharing or follow him on Twitter.

ClickKT: Would you please tell us something about you and your site?
Mitch: My site is called I’m Just Sharing, and it’s a site mainly geared towards blogging, social media, internet marketing, and anything associated with those types of things. I also go outside the norm from time to time and talk about literally anything else.
ClickKT: What got you getting started to build your blog?
Mitch: I had written a business blog for 4 years before deciding to start another blog, and wanted an outlet to express things that didn’t fit my business. I also wanted to have the opportunity to possibly make more money with a different type of blog.
ClickKT: Where you got idea blogging?
Mitch: Years ago, I had read that having a blog for your business could not only help you highlight your expertise, but would be consistently new content, which helps to keep your website fresh.
ClickKT: How to become a professional blogger?
Mitch: The main thing about being a professional blogger is that you have to have a passion about something first, then you have to be ready to write about it on a consistent basis. At a certain point, it’s not about the money so much as it is about communicating with the people who are visiting your blog, because you hope they’ll come back over and over.
ClickKT: How long does it take to become a professional blogger?
Mitch: One can be a professional blogger from the start, but it will probably take a few months before they’ll determine if they have what it takes to go continue for the long haul. Blogging isn’t a game if you’re hoping to make some money from it. However, I’d caution anyone who think they’re going to start writing a blog and they’ll be making thousands within a few months. It’s just not going to happen unless your name is Barack Obama or Oprah.
ClickKT: Which blogs would you recommend for any beginners starting to blog?
Mitch: Actually, the best blog to read is Darren Rowse’s Problogger, and truthfully, don’t start with the latest stuff. One thing I did was go back into the archives to see the earliest postings of his, those that didn’t get any comments at the time, because it’s interesting seeing that he actually made some of the same mistakes many other people do when they start, which is post some things that don’t really say anything, or just like to other pages without much comment. But once he found his stride, he gained a following, and look where he is now.
ClickKT: Which ebooks would you recommend for beginners starting to blog?
Mitch: I have to admit that I’ve never read a book on blogging before I started, but one resource I’d recommend is the site Build A Better Blog and download their free ebook on Better Business Blogging as a start. Also, Darren Rowse has a book on blogging that I hear is very good, but I haven’t seen it.
ClickKT: What are your methods of marketing for your blog?
Mitch: The thing I notice that works best for me is commenting on other blogs and making sure that my comments aren’t junk. Outside of that, I have my blog domain on every email I send out, I link it to my other blogs and websites, I have it exhibited on Facebook and Ryze, and every post I make automatically posts to Twitter, so those who are following me there know when I’ve posted something new, and some of them will stop by for a visit. I also have it listed on a bunch of other sites.
ClickKT: What did you do when don’t have the idea to blogging?
Mitch: I’m lucky in that I always have ideas for blogging. The one thing I made sure of with this blog was to not lock myself in too finely into a niche, so that I always have something to write about, as I’m always on the internet. What sometimes throws me off is not having enough time to get to everything, since I do have other work I have to do outside of blogging.
ClickKT: Did you spend time and money to SEO and advertising your blog?
Mitch: I spend time by commenting on other blogs, but I’ve never paid for any advertising. I use the All In One SEO plugin, as my blog is a Wordpress blog, and I do as much internal linking as I can. But I don’t go crazy with it, since I’m all over the place in my topics sometimes.
ClickKT: What’s the best way to make money online from blog?
Mitch: Let me first say what the worst way is; don’t write a blog on making money! The problem with it is that everyone who’s interested in it is writing on the same topic, and we don’t often help others make money on things we’re hoping to do ourselves. The best way is to find a separate niche on something specific that you love and believe you can write about all the time, then populate it with both Adsense and products geared towards that. I know someone who’s making $1,000 a month writing on hydroponic gardening, something she loves to do as a hobby, and though it’s not a large population, it’s a group of people looking for more information all the time, including product recommendations, which she provides.
ClickKT: Recommended programs to earn money from your blogs ?
Mitch: I almost hate to say this, but with my blog, the only thing I’ve made any money from is Adsense, and it’s very little. However, if I were to create a blog that was more niched than what I have, I’d probably hook up with Commission Junction, as it allows you to not only find products that will be related to the niche, but gives you the products already set up with a form, so all you have to do is copy and paste the code and you’re good to go. They also have text links and specials from time to time. If your blog grows and you eventually have great traffic, you can then make the offer for paid advertising, which is fine as long as you use nofollow links; otherwise, you might get penalized by losing your Google page rank. If you don’t care about that sort of thing, there’s sites like Text Link Ads that will find advertisers for you, and that can be consistent money.
I will recommend staying away from paid reviews, though, not because they don’t pay, but because you could jeopardize your credibility with your readers, especially if you never write a bad review.
ClickKT: How much money did you got in first month blogging ?
Mitch: I didn’t earn anything; as a matter of fact, I didn’t earn anything for the first four months I had my blog. It was in the fifth month when I started getting more visitors, which, funny enough, coincided with when I joined Twitter, which started sending me more visitors. But this blog doesn’t make me all that much money; I make more from other sources.
ClickKT: Who do you think are the most professional blogger on the internet?
Mitch: I’ve already mentioned Problogger, but I also like Copyblogger, which is more than one person.
ClickKT: Which blogs do you regularly read?
Mitch: I regularly read over 100 blogs, so I’m all over the place. Along with the two above, I like checking out Thou Shall Blog by Yan, Wassup Blog by Sire, and Clicknewz by Lynn Terry. And I have to admit a small weakness for HotForWords by Marina.
ClickKT: What are your advice for beginners who starting to blog?
Mitch: I actually created a blog writing series on my blog (http://www.imjustsharing.com/blogging-tips/), but the two biggest pieces of advice I would give anyone thinking about blogging is to first try to decide what you want to write about, then think about whether you believe you can write at least 100 articles a year on it. That’s one blog post every 3 or 4 days on average, which is probably the least amount of activity one could get away with if they hope to have consistent readers. If not, don’t even start.
Thank Mitch!
