Interview With Ben Pei

For today, I’ve got something special for you: an interview with blogger Ben Pei, a blogger who is actually earning a living with blogs!

Follow him on twitter at http://twitter.com/peiprofit

ClickKT: What got you getting started to build your blog?

Ben: I used to have a really personal blog on blogspot.com which I wrote stupid and I used to rant about my college teacher. Count me unlucky or what, my teacher found out about the blog and he actually told me I have potential to be a good writer. Then I chanced about Alvin Phang’s Atomic Blogging Software and I took a look at it and that was the birth of Pei Profit Dot Com. Not trying to pull any affiliate sales here but it truly was my first inspiration in starting my money making blog. It was much like an experiemental for myself but I soon found that I was addicted to blogging, I love it so much actually!

ClickKT: Where to get idea blogging about make money online ?

Ben: Ideas generally come from what you want to achieve, what you others’ are doing and what you think is good for yourself. Everyone is saying making money online is easy, yes it’s easy if you manage to survive through the initial stage. Many just give up thinking that it is impossible because they don’t see results are the very beginning.

ClickKT: How did you buildt traffic to your blog?

Ben: You may not believe it. I was really crazy about driving traffic to my blog initially that I did almost all I could. I participated in free traffic exchanges, forum discussions, blog commenting, mailing my friends etc.. You name it, I did it!

ClickKT: Do you advertise for your blog?

Ben: Sadly not at the moment. I was lucky to win a few contest which I could place some ads and it was all in the name of fun.

ClickKT: How much money did you earned in the first month of blogging?

Ben: I got about $100+ including adsense and I was really over the moon about it. I totally forgot that I spent almost $300 on Adwords while trying to learn affiliate marketing. Of coz it is a whole new story today and I am earning much more than I used to and I am finally able to grasp the beef of affiliate marketing. Just don’t give up, no matter what happens. Seek professional advice if you must!

ClickKT: How do you make money from your blogs?

Ben: Generally, the usual stuff like selling ad spots and reviews. While they don’t make ALOT of money, but they bring you quite a stable income. I used to have adsense and it earned me quite abit but I decided to focus on affiliate marketing through my blog now. Already beginning to see some good results. =)

ClickKT: Where to get more ideas for writing in your blogs?

Ben: Read your friends’ blogs. Read my blog! Read your readers’ comments or even questions posted on forums. Write a blog post that answers those questions and let them you about it. SO what do you get in return? Traffic plus a whole new load of loyal readers await.

If there is one blogging tutorial or product that I recommend, it would be Alvin Phang, who happens to my fellow country friend’s Atomic Blogging 3.0. Try it and you will know what I mean! God Bless.

  • The other thing you could try doing is to syndicate your blog. I don't buy traffic, I don't send out spam emails, I don't engage in questionable or black hat tactics, I seldom seek JV partners, I never seek inbound links, I blog when I feel like it, my SEO happens automatically,

I don't solicit sales, sales just happen.

    Regards

  • Hey, great interview. It's interesting to see that Ben prefers Affiliate Marketing over adsense. I think in the IM niche affiliate marketing is better. In other niches I also use adsense.
By the way thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.

  • You may not like this comparison at first, but just like in gangs, all endeavors require a "jumping in" process...you have to get "jumped in" before you actually start seeing the real benefits.

That's why I really like the part where Ben says:

...if you manage to survive through the initial stage...

Sadly, most ppl don't manage to do this!
