I don't think you have to worry about green web hosts being less reliable. If they are generating electricity from solar or wind power, it's not as if they are disconnected from the existing power grids. They can still tap into other electricity sources if they are not generating enough from wind or solar power. Web hosts realize that reliability is their number one concern. A green host just adds the extra benefit of leaving a smaller environmental footprint. I have heard that HostGator does many great green initiatives including using solar power.

This is not for me but ive read that many people who have blogs or are internet savvy can make even small residual incomes for just creating a blog. this does take initial startup time and you obviously have to write the blogs, but you still make money while you sleep.
